Meet our founder
Catherine Hazeldine has spent over 25 years working at the sharp end of digital marketing, from global enterprises to ambitious SMEs. She founded Greyturtle in 2017, building it from a solo freelance consultancy into a respected Cheshire-based agency serving clients across the UK.
Her career began in the early 2000s at Sun Microsystems and Shop Direct, where she cut her teeth on e-commerce and online sales during the first wave of UK digital retail. She went on to manage websites at AstraZeneca before spending nearly five years at Fujitsu, where she rose to Global Internet Marketing Manager with responsibility for the company’s worldwide digital presence. A three-year stint as Digital Project Manager at Bentley Motors and a role at McCann Health, one of the world’s leading healthcare communications agencies, rounded out a career that spans luxury automotive, global technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and retail.
Catherine’s academic background sets her apart from most digital marketers. She holds a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Computing from Manchester Metropolitan University. That scientific and technical foundation underpins everything Greyturtle does — from technical SEO audits and programmatic SEO to data-driven PPC management and conversion optimisation. It also means she’s been at the forefront of integrating AI into practical marketing workflows, something she sees as the next major shift in how businesses compete online.
At Greyturtle, Catherine remains fully hands-on. She personally leads strategy, writes content, manages campaigns and analyses results for her clients. It’s an approach that keeps the agency grounded in real-world outcomes rather than vanity metrics, and it’s why the majority of Greyturtle’s clients have stayed for years — many after unsuccessful experiences with other agencies. Her specialisms include SEO, Google Ads, e-commerce marketing, B2B lead generation and local SEO, and she works across platforms including WordPress, Shopify and Magento.
